Theme: Keep Your Conversation In Heaven…Resolve To Speak Rightly

Read by Florence

The Bible

Philippians 3:20

20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ

Psalm 19:14

14 “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”

Psalm 34: 2, 3, 4, 13

2 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
3 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
4 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
13 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

Psalm 50:23

23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

Matthew 12: 31, 35, 36, 37(to 1st , )

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified…..

Hebrews 13:5-7

5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

1 Samuel 17: 24, 32-33, 37( to 1st . ), 50

24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.
32 And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.
33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.
50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.

Ephesians 4: 4 ….we, 14, 15, 22-25, 29-32

14 …. we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

1 Peter 1:15-16… as

15… as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Psalm 35:28

28 And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness And of Your praise all the day long.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures

587:25-27

Heaven. Harmony; the reign of Spirit, government by divine Principle; spirituality; bliss: the atmosphere of Soul.

418 :27-29

“Preach the gospel to every creature.” Speak the truth to every form of error.

354:18-25

Consistency is seen in example more than in precept. Inconsistency is shown by words without deeds, which are like clouds without rain. If our words fail to express our deeds, God will redeem that weakness, and out of the mouth of babes He will perfect praise. The night of materiality is far spent, and with the dawn, Truth will awaken men spiritually to hear and to speak the new tongue.

Miscellaneous Writings

19:1-4

Envy, evil thinking, evil speaking, covetousness, lust, hatred, malice, are always wrong, and will break the rule of Christian Science and prevent its demonstration

162:30-163:2

“Of the lineage of David, like him he went forth, simple as the shepherd boy, to disarm Goliath. Panoplied in the strength of an exalted hope, faith, and understanding, he sought to conquer the three-in-one of error: the world, the flesh, and the devil.”

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures

174:26-28

Why declare that the body is diseased, and picture this disease to the mind, rolling it under the tongue as a sweet morsel and holding it before the thought of both physician and patient?

391:18-28

When the body is supposed to say, “ I am sick,” never plead guilty. Since matter cannot talk, it must be mortal mind error which speaks; therefore meet the intimation with a protest. If you say, “ I am sick,” you plead guilty. Then your adversary will deliver you to the judge (mortal mind), and the judge will sentence you. Disease has no intelligence to declare itself something and announce its name. Mortal mind alone sentences itself. Therefore make your own terms with sickness, and be just to yourself and to others. Mentally contradict every complaint from the body, and rise to the true consciousness of Life as Love, -— as all that is pure, and bearing the fruits of Spirit.

394:32-5

The sick unconsciously argue for suffering, instead of against it. They admit its reality, whereas they should deny it. They should plead in opposition to the testimony of the deceitful senses, and maintain man’s immortality and eternal likeness to God.

No and Yes

8:6-9

Avoid voicing error; but utter the truth of God and the beauty of holiness, the joy of Love and “the peace of God, that passeth all understanding,” recommending to all men fellowship in the bonds of Christ.

Miscellaneous Writings

127:27-30

Wise sayings and garrulous talk may fall to the ground, rather than on the ear or heart of the hearer; but a tender sentiment felt, or a kind word spoken, at the right moment, is never wasted.

367:3-9

The tender word and Christian encouragement of an invalid, pitiful patience with his fears and the removal of them, are better than hecatombs of gushing theories, stereotyped borrowed speeches, and the doling of arguments, which are but so many parodies on legitimate Christian Science, aflame with divine Love.

346

“It is a rule in Christian Science never to repeat error unless it becomes requisite to bring out Truth.”

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures

21:1-4

If Truth is overcoming error in your daily walk and conversation, you can finally say, “I have fought a good fight . . . I have kept the faith,” because you are a better man.

Miscellaneous Writings

206:19-22

The real Christian Scientist is constantly accentuating harmony in word and deed, mentally and orally, perpetually repeating this diapason of heaven: “Good is my God, and my God is good. Love is my God, and my God is Love.”

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures

442:30-32

Christian Scientists be a law unto yourselves that mental malpractice cannot harm you either when asleep or awake.

Retrospection and Introspection

15:7-11

In confidence of faith, I could say in David’s words, “I will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of Thy righteousness, even of Thine only. O God, Thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared Thy wondrous works.”
